Bocanegra switches French clubs

U.S. captain and former Chicago Fire standout Carlos Bocanegra was secured by the French side Saint-Étienne for a reported transfer fee of $500,000. The California native played the previous two campaigns with Stade Rennais, who also plays in France’s Ligue 1.

Bocanegra will undoubtedly play a significant role for Les Verts who first attempted to acquire him in the winter transfer window last season.
