Everton falls at Wolfsburg, 2-0

An extremely successful preseason for Everton came to an end Saturday as they fell at Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, 2-0. The Toffees entered the match with a 6-0 record for the preseason, but were outclassed on the day by the German side.

Mario Madzukic and Karim Ziani netted both goals in the first half for Wolfsburg. The score could’ve easily been more lopsided, but American Tim Howard made an outstanding save on a penalty kick.

Everton will officially kick off the 2010-11 season next week with a Premiership fixture against Blackburn Rovers.
