U.S. wins Milk Cup, keeper to train with Everton

The United States Under-20 National Team dominated host Northern Ireland 3-0 en route to taking home the Milk Cup title for the first time since 2005. Gale Agbossoumonde (Sporting Club Braga, Portugese Liga), Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls), and Adrian Ruelas (Club Santos Laguna, La Primera Division) each scored.

University of Maryland netminder Zac MacMath pitched a shutout in goal, and will now hook up with Everton keeper Tim Howard in Liverpool for a training session. I think that given recent signings by the Toffees, such as Slovakia’s top keeper Jan Mucha, it’s unlikely that the training session is much more than America’s top player at the position mentoring a possible future replacement.
