Omar Salgado MLS-bound

Omar Salgado scored the game-winner today in a U-20 win over China in the Milk Cup, but the story of the day is his future in the MLS. The towering 16-year old was released from Mexican side Chivas for agreeing to national team duty in the United States, and will be available in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.

The 6-4 El Paso, Texas, native will likely go on loan to a second division side, and rumors seem to be pointing to either Portland or Vancouver, who will join the MLS next season.

Put this one in the books as another immensely talented teenager playing in the MLS, hard to call it a bad thing.
