The Blues walked away with their second victory in as many matches as they cruised to 2-0 win Wednesday over Melbourne Heart. Everton is now 2-0 on their preseason tour of Australia with one match remaining.
Louis Saha and Jack Rodwell accounted for the scoring in the match, which was played very early in the morning in the United States.
The Toffees would threaten early. Seamus Coleman was brought down in the 18-yard box to draw a penalty in the second minute, but Saha put it just right of the post, keeping things level.
After surviving a handful of dangerous attacks by Melbourne, Seamus Coleman would once again provide a scoring chance for the Toffees. The Irishman sent a cross in to the feet of Jack Rodwell, who volleyed in the first tally of the match from close range late in the first half.
Louis Saha made up for his earlier miss with a great strike from outside the penalty area to put The People’s Club up 2-0 with a half hour left to play.
Joao Silva and Jermaine Beckford made their first appearances in an Everton shirt later in the second half, and Iain Turner posted his second consecutive clean sheet for the preseason tour.
